IAM members came out strong for Labor Day 2023. From coast to coast, Machinists Union members celebrated their work and their union in parades and gatherings across the U.S. and Canada.
“It’s an exciting time to be a part of the IAM and the labor movement,” said IAM International President Robert Martinez Jr. in his Labor Day message. “Ahead of this Labor Day weekend, we confirmed what we already knew – people see unions as needed now more than ever.”
IAM Resident General Vice President Brian Bryant chose to celebrate this Labor Day with the Eastern Territory’s District 98 and the Air Transport Territory’s District 142 in Pittsburgh. IAM members from the area proudly marched in the historic Pittsburgh Labor Day parade. IAM Local 1776 members also attended President Biden’s Labor Day address in Philadelphia.
On Friday, the IAM showed support for the AFL-CIO’s “State of the Unions” address to kick off the Labor Day weekend.
This Labor Day closed out a summer full of union power and workers rising up across the country for better wages and workplaces. The IAM supported union members from all over in its continued fight for justice on the job and service to the community.
