IAM CULR Local 3111 Secures Gains in New Contract with Canadian Labour Congress, Including AI Job Protections

On September 13, 2024 after 9 days of negotiations and 1 day of conciliation, the members of IAM CULR Local 3111 ratified their new collective agreement with the Canadian Labour Congress.

Here are some details of the negotiations

  • Introduction of AI language to protect workers jobs.
  • 28% increase in out of town per diems
  • 28% increase in overnight per diems
  • 10% increase in CLC Convention per diems
  • Introduction of electric and plug in hybrid vehicle allowance
  • Improvement to vehicle tire allowance
  • 20% increase in health and welfare allowance
  • Improvement to the article intended to reduce the pension deficit
  • 12% salary increase over 3 years
  • Retro activity to July 1st on salary and other monetary benefits such as vacation bonuses, car allowances, per diems etc.
