On Saturday, July 16, Local members Melissa Marsmen and Zita Hildebrandt, accompanied by Grand Lodge Special Rep Matt Barnable, joined hundreds of labour activists in the 2022 Halifax Pride Parade. Marching with other unions behind the Nova Scotia Federation of Labour banner before an estimated crowd of 30,000 people was an uplifting and empowering feeling. It was wonderful to see so many people coming together to show support for Pride. The last in-person Halifax Pride Parade was in 2019.
